The Status of National Economy (SNE) Scores are a novel way of determining economic health of countries, producing individual scores for each country and a status category based on the scores. This is our flagship economic research product.
SNE Scores are quantitative in nature. Those provide a snapshot of economic health of 75 economies. The scores yield a single, easily digestible number for ease of analysis.
SNE Scores provide a unique and highly useful angle to support research on economic performance analysis, economic stability and investment opportunities, among others.
We compute SNE scores for 75 countries on monthly basis.
We publish a monthly report upon computation of the SNE Scores for a wider consumption. This report contains detailed score tables along with analysis of the performance of economies in the reference month.
SNE Scores - Essentials
SNE Scores are result of our decade-long internal research and are not funded by any third entity.
While computing, we consider indicators covering multiple economic sectors – Real, Financial, External and Market.
Due to heterogeneity, we have focused on amalgamation of diverse information into a unified unit.
The bouquet of indicators consist of leading, current and lagging indicators, making resultant composite indicator as current indicator with a slight lag.
Some inadequacies of GDP are also taken care of, by combining relevant GDP components to ensure the scores project inherent economic strength.
Weights and normalizing components used while deriving the scores stay the same for all countries under consideration.
Raw indicators are building blocks for scores calculation. We extensively use multiple ratios, scales and indicator movements to compute the scores.
For interpretation ease, the score ranges are split into score categories as a broad indication of economy’s health.
